Toronto.Hair is committed to digital accessibility. The site targets WCAG 2.2 AA compliance and aligns with the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA). If something isn’t working for you, we want to hear about it.
The site is designed to meet Level AA of the W3C Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2. We comply with the AODA in Ontario as a baseline and treat WCAG 2.2 AA as the working target.
Specific commitments: 1. Sufficient text contrast (4.5:1 minimum, 7:1 for body copy on dark backgrounds). 2. Keyboard navigation across all interactive elements. 3. Visible focus indicators. 4. Semantic HTML and ARIA labels for screen readers. 5. Respect for reduced-motion preferences. 6. Alt text on meaningful images. 7. Form fields with associated labels.
We’re actively improving the site, and there are accessibility issues we know about and are working on:
1. Some background image overlays may produce edge-case contrast issues on smaller devices. We’re reviewing.
2. The Norwood self-assessment images are decorative; we’re adding richer descriptive alt text in the next iteration.
3. Outbound RealSelf and PubMed links open in new tabs — confirmed in the markup but flagged here for clarity.
If you encounter an accessibility barrier, the fastest way to report it is via phone or email — see contact below.
If you’re experiencing difficulty with any aspect of the site, please contact us. We can also provide content in alternative formats (large print, audio, plain text) on request.
