It isn’t one surgeon’s personal art project — it’s a teachable, repeatable approach with documented training protocols and consistent outcomes.
The training itself happened in three primary contexts: 1. Hands-on observerships at the Oakville clinic, where surgeons traveled to learn the Jones Technique directly. 2. ISHRS World Congress workshops, where Dr. Jones taught technique sessions across multiple congresses. 3. One-on-one consulting engagements with practices establishing or refining their FUE programs.
Training covered the same four pillars that define the methodology in the Oakville clinic today: hairline design as the first and most permanent step; large-session FUE when appropriate; surgeon-supervised extraction always; and donor-area preservation for life.
The trained surgeons who continue to use the methodology produce results consistent with what patients experience here. The technique works because it’s the same technique — calibrated by hand, refined for two decades, and now documented well enough to transfer.

One subtle point worth noting: the surgeons Dr. Jones has trained over the years are now active in their own clinics globally, and many of them are excellent. If you’re reading this from outside Canada and a surgeon Dr. Jones trained is closer to you geographically than Oakville, they may well be the right answer for your case.
That’s the inverse of how most clinics market themselves — but it’s honest. The point of training other surgeons in the methodology was to extend access to the technique, not to consolidate cases at one address. We’re happy to refer when geography or circumstances point elsewhere.
